About
About Transition to Veteran
My name is Jordan, and I started TransitiontoVeteran.com for one reason: to help my fellow veterans avoid the mistakes I made when leaving the military.
I served six years in the U.S. Air Force. When it was time to separate, I thought I was prepared — but I quickly learned how overwhelming the transition to civilian life can be.
Unfortunately, I learned the hard way:
I moved into a dangerous neighborhood and became the victim of multiple crimes.
I ignored my VA disability benefits and missed out on tens of thousands of dollars I had earned.
I delayed my out-processing and had to push back the start date for my first civilian job — a mistake that cost me both time and money.
These experiences were painful, but they taught me valuable lessons I wish I had known from the start.
Why This Site Exists
Transition to Veteran is here to:
Share clear, step-by-step guides for navigating VA benefits.
Provide practical tips for housing, finances, and civilian careers.
Review resources and programs that make life after service easier.
Build a community where veterans can help each other succeed.
I believe no veteran should feel lost, taken advantage of, or left behind after serving our country. Whether you’re days away from separation or years into civilian life, this site is for you.
